Bachelor of homeopathic medicine and surgery (BHMS) is a 5.5 year (including one year internship) undergraduate degree program focusing on homeopathic medicine and surgery. It is a combination of traditional and modern medical sciences. BHMS can be done after completion of 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology. In addition you have to qualify entrance exams like NEET-UG, IPU, CET etc. The fees of BHMS courses vary between INR 1.5 lakh to INR 3 lakh per year depending on the institution, specialization and location. After completion of BHMS, students can practice as homeopathic doctors, work in clinics and hospitals as researchers, lab technicians, pharmacists etc.

Eligibility Criteria : 

Below are the general eligibility criteria for BHMS course : 

  • Candidates should have completed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (biotechnology) and English having at least 50% marks. 

  • For persons with disability (PWD) candidates minimum marks is 45% and  reserved category candidates SC/ST/ OBC minimum marks can be 40%.

  • Candidates have to qualify the entrance examination NEET-UG for BHMS.

  • Candidates should be at least 17 years old.


Admission process : 

To get admission in BHMS, NEET is the mandatory entrance examination to pass. Candidates have to get minimum qualifying marks in NEET according to their category. After qualifying NEET, candidates can apply for the counseling process. After counseling seat allotment is done on the basis of performance in their NEET exam. Selected candidates need to submit the documents for the verification process. Which include NEET Score card, Educational certificates, Aadhar card, Transfer certificates etc. After verification candidates have to pay the admission fee to secure their seat.
